Hi,
I am about to start my application procedure.
My counsllor told me that I should choose either Mays or Mccombs but not both.
I am not much convinced with the reasoning provided by her.
Please advise
1) which one is better? 2) my realistic chances of getting into these schools 3) chances of getting scholarships in these schools
My brief profile : 24/Indian female/700/B.tech (chemical)-62%/avg extra curricular
I want to come back to India after completing my MBA.
Mays Vs Mccombs

What was the reasoning?

hmmm...I'm with you on that one. Often students apply to several schools within a state or region, especially if that region ties into their post MBA plans. If you plan to return to India, I guess that rules out this reason, but there may be other reasons you have such as similar concentration or culture. I don't see why you wouldn't just apply to both if they both seem to fit your target profile for schools. Tough to say which will give you a better chance, which is perhaps another reason to go for both...if one just happens to need more female students or more international students, and one doesn't, you won't have taken the risk of choosing which one in advance. if you have the time, i would go for both.
