Columbia GPA conversion

by varunkh70 » Sat Apr 24, 2010 11:20 am
Hi,

I have done my engineering from VTU,Karnataka, India. The passing marks are 35% and the unversity awards class based on performance -
1) First Class With Distinction
2) First Class
3) Second Class
4) Fail

I secured an aggregate of 65% and First Class. So, how do I convert this to GPA by using the chart which is provided by Columbia(attached to this post)

Regards,
Varun

I find columbia complicated for the GPA conversion, because it is one of the rare business school, which impose a conversion of grade in GPA american style, even when it is not applicable.
Anyway you can send them an email without your application, and they will tell you exactly what to do.

I did that but all they told me is that you must convert the GPA to the best of your abilities and explain you gpa conversion in optional essay.
