Depressed after getting 500

by sairakesh » Mon Nov 23, 2009 6:40 am
Hi,
Today is really a disasterous day...I have never performed such low in Powerprep tests.
Current GMAT score:
500(35 percentile)
Quant-41
verbal--19

POWER PREP tests:
Test1: 570
Repeat:670
Test2:640

I am really in need of suggestions to improve my GMAT score. I feel i am an average student. But my test Results shows i am a below average student.

Don't give up hope yet. What is your current study plan?

And just to clarify, how many times did you retake your practice test? did you use powerprep or the gmat prep software? Powerprep is older solfware and easier than the actual exam. Retakes of the same practice exam might also have artificially inflated your score.

i took tests such as powerprep, gmat prep and kaplan tests. The avg is 610.

Learnings from exam:
I have to start once again from scratch....My verbal skills are very poor(need to concentrate on that).
Quant is ok (Need to concentrate on Absolute values and Geometry).
I haven't prepared a study plan yet.....(Any suggestions plz...)
I want to give my exam by end of last dec....if everything goes well..
