This is my second real go-around for the GMAT, and this time, I will get the score I want (I really, really hope). I think that Eric made a great suggestion to start a blog to record what you did everyday. So I did:

https://gmat.brianschwartz.name/

Please feel free to check it out - leave comments... go nuts.

Thanks guys! See you around (I will be here from time to time getting information.... this is a great forum)

I like your blog. I notice that we have similar backgrounds. I graduated in December from ASU with a degree in information systems management. I took the GMAT in April and scored a 580 :( . I have been working to improve my score. My biggest problem right now is finding the time to devote to study. I worked throught the OG 10th edition and now I am starting the 11th edition. I'm hoping that I can work on speed and stamina. I didn't time myself while working on the 10th, this time through I will definately use the clock.

I developed a modified version of a spreadsheet to track performance on the 10th edition. I've attached it. Let me know if you have any interest in modifying it for the 11the edition. Thanks.

What differences, if any, are you finding in the 11th edition compared to the 10th?

i also visited your blog sometime back.
good start.
all the best for your stuff.

@ limits660:the differences in 10 th & 11th are items (ie questions)

i suggest dont touch Powerprep test once you r through with 11th & 10th edition.
all items are repeated in there

so take powerprep first & then practise OG

hey
Good news I have also built my own blog now you can check it now.
the link is in my signature too
https://pranav.amrute.me/

Unlike Eric or now MrBrian, I m not going to review my study plan or my beating GMAT strategy there.
the reason for this is I am not currently preparing for GMAT.
But i certainly will put my insights when i ll start studying ...but not now..

so dont expect any strats puts in my blog.

what other i can offer in my blog will be decided by the feedback and responces i would get later.

But right now i m planning to discuss whole admission process/ tralks about b-schools and other beyond the GMAT things there :D

till then
so happy blogging :P

Johny was kind enough to ping me to suggest that I include my blog here. For those of you who didn't read my initial thread: I'm a longtime GMAT tutor and have recently started a website devoted to sharing tips for improving your GMAT score. My site is updated each weekday, and you can find it here:

Thanks!

Here is my GMAT blog

https://orugallu.net/gmat

Couple of things :-
I got the following list of books from this blog >>> https://hawkeyeview.blocked/2005/12/gmat-exam.html

1) Princeton GMAT Reviews
2) Kaplan GMAT
3) Kaplan Verbal
4) Princeton Verbal
5) GMAT ETS - The Big Book
6) Barrons
7) Archo
8 ) Petersons GMAT Guide ( has 6 exams in it)
9) Power Prep - 2 Tests comes to you as free when you register.

I thought this list might be useful for folks here. However I could not find item #1. Is it Cracking the GMAT with DVD?

Same thing about #5. I know there is a Big Book for GRE but what is this Big Book for GMAT. No help on Amazon.
Again the same question for #8- What is that guide?

And btw, #7 is actully Arco - no 'h'

Please post any info you guys have regarding these books.

Secondly,
I bought a basic grammar book (for eighth graders) named 'Painless Grammar' by Barron's. Feel free to go ahead and buy it. It will prove to be a nice addition. You can brush up on some grammar basics to enhance both your writing skills and the SC section in Verbal.

Later,
Asterix

aim-wsc,

Don't get me wrong but I am not bothering/fretting over the above list.
I would still want to get an opinion just to satiate my curiosity reg. the said items in the above list. :)
I want to cover as much prep. material as possible, because "Practice - Practice - Practice" seems to be the mantra for a strong GMAT score.

Thanks,
Asterix
