Let x be the 1/2 gallon cartons osold and y be the 1/4g cartons sold
Question stem : x+y = 300
Stmt I
Store sold 120 1/4 gallon cartons
Therefore 180 1/2 g cartons sold
From here we can find the number of gallons (120*1/4+180*1/2)
SUFF
Stmt II
Store sold 90 gallon in1/2 gallon cartons
1/2x=90 => x=180
120 1/4 gallon cartons sold
From here we can find the numbe rof gallons sold
SUFF
D)
P.S.
Stmt I 1/4g carton quantity was given and in statement II quantiy(gallons) of milk sold in 1/2g cartons was given. From either we can get to the number of gallons.
