Long Term Goal:
Shall start my own talent hunt firm to work from remote/ground up for people with less access to all resources. Have a plan on what to do, no business plan ready, wanting to learn more on that in B school.

My few questions:
1) Does being in Indian It Male category with an average profile hampers my chances of getting accepted.
2) Does absence of any community work (NGO etc.) reduces the diversity in my profile.
3) How can I reflect my International experience in my application, as whole of my team is in US and Germany, so can this be counted as International Experience?
4)What are the qualities that schools look for in candidate while evaluating application.
5) Does my inclination on working in Asia pacific markets reduces the chances on selection in B-school?
6) If there are some loopholes in profile, are there any ways in which I can overcome them?
7) Is planning on doing 1 year MBA reducing my options?

Thanks in Advance for help.

Hi,

Thank you for your post. Please see my comments below:

1) Does being in Indian It Male category with an average profile hampers my chances of getting accepted.
Yes, it does. You are part of the largest applicant pool. Standing out will be the key to success.
2) Does absence of any community work (NGO etc.) reduces the diversity in my profile.
The absence of community work isn't a negative. It looks to me like you are involved in quite a few activities. It's the level of involvement that counts, not the number of activities.
3) How can I reflect my International experience in my application, as whole of my team is in US and Germany, so can this be counted as International Experience?
Yes, this certainly can be viewed as international experience provided that you are able to justify the experience - meaning you can prove that learning about other cultures and business styles was/is critical for your success.
4)What are the qualities that schools look for in candidate while evaluating application.
Schools look at academic, work experience and extracurricular activities. They are also evaluating your "fit" with the program. This means you should select schools that not only fit with your goals but also your personality (location, class size, etc.)
5) Does my inclination on working in Asia pacific markets reduces the chances on selection in B-school?
Not at all.
6) If there are some loopholes in profile, are there any ways in which I can overcome them?
Not that I can see based on the information you've shared.
7) Is planning on doing 1 year MBA reducing my options?
There aren't as many 1 year programs as there are full time programs, so yes, by the numbers you do have less options.

Regards,

Stacey
