IMO : E ==> 14/3
FG = 4:3 ==> in 14 liter ==> 8 liter blue and 6 liter yellow
now you have to change the fraction to 3:4, by adding only yellow color.
so overall you can say that in new paint : 8 liter of blue ==> 3*new paint quanitity/7
so, new paint quantity ==> 56/3 ==> means addition yellow paint ==> 56/3 - 14 ==> 14/3

I like to rephrase the problem so that I can visualize what I need to do:
FG= 4b + 3y
VG= 3b + 4y
And the problem is asking us how to go from 3y to 4y. You simply add y, right? In orther words, what is 14+ y= 4y? Solve for y and you will get 14/3
