Is the Answer
{D}
?????

{A} - INCORRECT; "is more localized" and "resulting" are not parallel; "with" works similar to adverbial modifier-- hence meaning is affected
{B} - INCORRECT; "comparison issue"
{C} - INCORRECT; "comparison issue"
{D} - CORRECT;
{E} - INCORRECT; "healing"; "instead" is not needed.. we are already using "unlike" for comparison

comparison between body's Inflammatory response with body's response to sunburn. hence after second comma it should be body's response .. hence B C are out
In E, unlike and instead redundant
unlike x, y where x is parallel with y

in option A, x and y are not parallel..As Immobilizing is not a verb
Hence D
Has to be D. Unlike the body's...response needs the body's....response to maintain parallelism, so A B C are eliminated.

D-Parallelism is maintained.Also observe the effect of the "cuts and sprains" in which is correct usage ans results is correct.Until it has healed is correct.
E- "Until healing, instead" these words are not correct
You can, for example never foretell what any one man will do, but you can say with precision what an average number will be up to!

OA is indeed D. I must have been blind that time when I didn't see "instead" in option E
