Hi ravitheja12,

The application process to most MBA programs typically involves 6-7 pieces, so if you have one piece that is "weak" or "average" and you can't improve it, then you have to emphasis the other parts of the application (assuming they are "strong"). Another thing to consider is what schools/programs you're planning to apply to, what the rejection rates are for those schools, the level of competition, etc.

Many schools consider GPA and Work Experience to be a bit of a "combo." If you have little work experience, then your GPA is more relevant. If you have a great deal of work experience (and/or the experience is particularly impressive), then your GPA is less relevant. I don't know how a 6.5/10 would be viewed by most schools, but if it's not "strong" by conventional standards, then it isn't a "strong" aspect of your application.

This website probably isn't the best place to ask for career advice. If you discuss this issue with an Admissions Consultant, then you might receive a more pointed piece of advice.

Hi again ravitheja12,

I forgot to answer your immediate question: if you could get into a good MBA program. Yes, of course you can, BUT you have to have a strong overall application and you have to "stand out" among the other applicants to that program. To that end, your essays and work experience can significantly impact your application, so factor that into your future plans.
