So I finished the Sentence Correction section in the OG and my final results are 105 correct out of 140. The breakdown in chronological order is as follows:
1. 17/20
2. 33/40
3. 27/40
4. 28/40
Total: 105/140 = 75% correct.
Honestly I am a little bit disappointed. I thought I'd do better than this. I will also admit that most of the time I just trust that the grammar I've learned over the years from speaking, reading and writing the English language will hold me in good stead. I have a hard time memorizing grammar rules like noun clauses, indefinite pronouns, present perfect, past perfect and what not and a majority of the time just pick an answer based on how the sentence 'sounds' to my ear.
I have 8 weeks to go for my exam. Any tips to improve my sentence correction scores are appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately, your ear will get you only so far when it comes to SC.saintforlife wrote:So I finished the Sentence Correction section in the OG and my final results are 105 correct out of 140. The breakdown in chronological order is as follows:

To improve, you need to carefully analyze each solution. This means you should review EVERY solution (even for questions you answered correctly). Learn why the correct answer is correct and why the incorrect answers are incorrect.
This is the only way to identify and strengthen your weaknesses.
It's far better to do 20 practice questions and thoughtfully analyze each one, that to do 100 practice questions without any reflection.
Cheers,
