og 12 problem of degree

of 30 applicants for a job,14 had atleast 4 years experience,18 had degree and 3 had less than 4 years experience and did not have a degree. how many of the applicants had atleast 4 years experience and a degree?

A.14
B.13
C.9
D.7
E.5

anyone have other method than og 12

14 have > = 4 yrs experience
so 16 have < 4 yrs experience
3 of them have no degree
so 13 of them have degree and < 4 yrs exp.
Total no of degree holders = 18
5 = 18-13 have degree and > 4yrs exp.

Pradeep, in those types of problems, always draw a table, makes things much clearer!

>=4 <4 Total
Degree 5 13 18
No Degree 9 3 12
Total 14 16 30

Put what's given, and start filling in the squares, hope this helps!:)
