Resume queries

Hello All ,

I am new to the application playground ,and I am still learning to deal with the different facets of it and the impact generated. Recently, I had to submit a resume for the application to one of the B schools. However, when I was goin through the sample resumes, I found that most of the resumes had quantitative backing behind each of the claims i.e , few of them had talked about the profitability gerngenerated , manhours reduced - all of which backed by solid numerical data. But, in my case, since I am a design engineer working with a shipbuilding unit, it is extremely difficult for me to quantify my achievements in terms of an numerical data.
In this scenario, can you ppl please chip in with your responses.

Every resume is a factual data sheet. Its a good practice to quote figures and showcase your efficacy through numbers.

It is obvious that its one impressive way of putting a BSchool Resume. There are professions and experiences which cant be put in numbers like this. Still they need to rise. As its subjective and depends on specific careers/individuals, I could have commented better by seeing it.

Always prepare a resume like a power point presentation(its different from a job resume). Dedicate time to it.

There is ALMOST ALWAYS a way to quantify results in an objective manner to strengthen your resume. One good way to do it if you don;t perhaps have numbers at the end of your projects is through relative comparisons (i.e. the youngest manager out of 50, the fastest growing department, etc.)

It's hard to say exactly what you should do without seeing your resume, so maybe drop us a line and we will see what we can do for ya.
