Hey everyone,

We've been receiving tons of great feedback, so we want to share it with you all. We're trying to put together a collection of feedback videos from you. Go to https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/why-do-y ... t-the-gmat, submit your 15 second video explaining why you love Beat The GMAT, and get an extra 50 points! Recording the video is uber easy, just follow the steps and you're there!

We'll also reward the best 5 videos with Beat The GMAT t shirts this Monday!

I've already submitted my video, so what are you waiting for? Here's the link again: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/why-do-y ... t-the-gmat

Dana,
I don't have webcam on my laptop. Can I record the video on my mobile/camera and email the video to David?

Thanks, Ashok

I think you can only do it through the widget on the right bar - but I'll have to double check.

Dana,

It is only through the widget (which requires a mandatory WEBCAM) that one can be able to record video and submit.

I am sorry to say this but it is unfair to assume that EVERY beatthegmat member IS equipped with a webcam in his/her laptop/PC.

Regards, Ashok

Hi Sandeep,

Thanks for the advice!! I actually thought of doing the same and may be I have to do the same. But yaar, that would be really counter-productive for me as I would have to spend at least 45 minutes for an activity of just 15 seconds.

45 minutes?? yes!!
At least 45 min = at least 15 min to find a nearby cybercafe + at least 15 min for internet usage and webcam settings/usage + at least 15 min to return back to my home.

Now you might argue that I have already wasted 15 min to type this message. But I am raising this issue because my problem might be a representative of those for a majority of people from developing countries or poor countries.

Just imagine the worst case when he/she won't find a cyber cafe nearby or even if he/she finds a cybercafe, it doesn't have a webcam in any of the computers :( We Indians are fortunate enough but think about people from Nepal, Bhutan, Nigeria, Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania, Haiti, etc..

Unfortunately the video mash is set up this way, i.e. you can only record it with a webcam. We're really sorry some people can't record their videos!

Hi Dana,

I wonder if I had finished my 15-second clip yet. As after I finished my clip ( 2h30 ago), clicked next and filled in some forms, I received a message that " We will consider your clip and notice you as soon as possible" - or something like that, I cannot remember. Unfortunately, at that time, the power was off. So do I need to do anything else to comfirm my clip? (for example: wait for a pop-up windows to share the clip on facebook)

Please let me know so that I can repost it again if neccessary. :D

Thanks.

There isn't any other confirmation needed as far as I remember. Eric must approve your video, so stay tuned! :)

In case it isn't up until tomorrow evening, we'll figure out if the power was off and this affected your recording.

Dana,

I should better buy an UPS. And I'm a little curious about how you can check whether the power was off in my city at that time. :D.

Anyway, I think I had finished my post, as I had been waiting for more than 10 seconds after seeing the "we'll ..." message. Then, came the power outage!

Thanks.

Hi Dana, Eric,

Do you know that apple doesn't supports Adobe Flash anymore. I have a webcam only on my iPod, and it will not show me the flash widget! :(

Do we have an alternative for Mac/iPhone/iPod users?

Thanks.

@ugoyal, sorry about that. We can only use the technology that our video partner (Videogenie) provides. They use a Flash player and not HTML5. We'll send this feedback back to them though. I've been working pretty closely with the CEO of Videogenie - they're very curious about how our members use their service.
