The perspective that majority and minority group members takes on particular interactions and intergroup relationships in general differ in fundamental ways

A takes on particular interactions and intergroup relationships in general differ in fundamental ways

B takes for particular interactions and intergroup relationships in general differs in fundamental ways

C take for particular interactions and intergroup relationships differ in general in fundamental ways

D take on particular interactions and intergroup relationships in general differs in fundamental ways

E take on particular interactions and intergroup relationships in general differ in fundamental ways
You can, for example never foretell what any one man will do, but you can say with precision what an average number will be up to!

(A) takes on particular interactions and intergroup relationships in general differ in fundamental ways
(B) takes for particular interactions and intergroup relationships in general differs in fundamental ways
(C) take for particular interactions and intergroup relationships differ in general in fundamental ways
(D) take on particular interactions and intergroup relationships in general differs in fundamental ways
(E) take on particular interactions and intergroup relationships in general differ in fundamental ways
I'm happy to help with this :-)

What's the source of this? I wonder if the author meant "intragroup", rather than "intergroup" --- very different.

Split #1: the verb take/takes. The subject is "majority and minority group members", a plural subject in any sense, so we need the plural verb. On this basis, we can eliminate (A) & (B).

Split #2: idiom --- one takes a perspective "on" something, not "for" something. On this basis, we can eliminate (B) & (C).

Split #3: the verb differ/differs. The subject is "perspective", which is singular, so we need a singular verb --- "differs". On this basis, we can eliminate (A) & (C) & (E).

The only remaining answer is
(D)
Mike :-)
