I know this sounds like a silly questions, but is it possible to make changes in the essays after the deadline once submitted ?

It's a silly question.
:)
But if you did make a big mess up (even emailing them something that has spelling errors cause you saved it after you uploaded it or whatever) you CAN email them. And they are nice about these things usually.

Thanks.

If you don't mind , another silly question :). Is it possible to submit a few days after the deadline and still be considered for that round ? I am asking this because I am a bit late in the appliation process.

That IS another silly question.
Nope.
If you send it in late, you will considered for the next round.

There is exception: I applied to ASU and asked the admission staff over the phone regarding such issue. She told me that as long as my application was submitted before the deadline, I'll still be considered for that round even if my recommendation was not completed until after the deadline is passed. But the link for the online recommendation form was not sent until I submitted my application, so it is possbile they do things differently :)

I would suggest you to contact the adcom to inquire more about this
