Questions with answer explanations?

by doctortt » Tue Apr 07, 2009 3:20 pm
Do you guys think that practice questions with answer explanation are better than those without? Sometimes I feel skeptical with some correct answers, and without the explanations, there is no way that I can understand why those answers are correct.

Yes off course

It is very important to have explanation of answers specially for the verbal part.

Because if you are committing a mistake and there is no explanation given for that mistake, then how are you going to learn??

To learn you need to know why are you making mistakes and how a question can be attacked in a proper way

Hope this helps

Working without explanations is like learning to shoot a basketball blindfolded. You may know whether your shot hit or missed, but how will you know which adjustments you need to make to impove your shooting accuracy? I wouldn't even consider practicing from a source that doesn't offer explanations (not just answer key) with the exception of GMATPrep tests. And even with GMATPrep, I use the GMATFix solutions engine to view and study test solutions.

I think going over the solutions/explanations and stdying them is a HUGE part of the process of learning and improving.
