I'm between B and E, both sound right to me, But A is out because "that included" doesn't sounds right.

You can, for example never foretell what any one man will do, but you can say with precision what an average number will be up to!

Sorry forum for the double post, cleaned the question prompt.

According to me "Bill Monroe was influential to many including Elvis Presley and Jerry Garcia, and their music was different from his own"

A B E

A that is singular while musicians is plural, also comma before that is usually incorrect.

So B and E.

What is the source?

Hi All,

To properly answer this SC, you need to focus on parallelism and AVOID redundancy.

Also, as a general rule, assuming the grammar is correct, the shorter answer tends to be the better answer.

For example, if you have a choice between:

"influenced generations"

or

"were an influence on generations"

Then choose "influenced generations".

This SC tells us about something that happened in the past (each of the answers confirms THAT). We also learn about 2 things that occurred, so these phrases need to be parallel.

In B, we have "influenced generations" and "also inspired many musicians" - this is parallel and short.

In A, we have "were influential on generations" and "was also an inspiration to many musicians" - notice the "wordiness" of this and the redundant word "was"? This has some style problems.

In E, we have "were an influence on generations" and "was also an inspiration to many musicians" - This answer has the same general problems as A.

This is enough for me to choose B
