Hi,
I just gave Kaplan's online practice test today. I got 700 (92%). I want to get 750+, but that's not the point.
What confuses me is that my individual scores on Quant and Verbal are in much higher percentiles, but why they don't add up to a higher score on the complete test.
Q: scaled score of 46. 96th percentile. 3 incorrect out of 37 (92% accuracy).
V: scaled score of 42. 95th percentile. 7 incorrect out of 41 (83% accuracy)
If my individual scaled scores are this high, how come my total score is lower? Would be glad if anyone from Kaplan can shed some light on this.
Thanks, H

3 incorrect out of 37 should give you 50-51 on GMATpreppseudonym wrote:Hi,

7 incorrect out of 41 should give you anywhere between 42- 44 on GMATprep
Thus, your overall score should be somewhere between 740-760

Hi
I took the online kaplan test and got 660 as my score. i heard that kap test are generally tougher and felt the same. Is there some kind of points that i need to add to 660 to guesstimate my gmat score
92 percent in quant and 48 percent in verbal. IR was as bad as 2 on 8
Regards

HI manasgoswami,
I PMed you a response already, since you sent me a message, but to reiterate--Kaplan's 200-800 scores are reliable according to our tests, and you don't need to worry about adding or subtracting to get a "real" score. You can take your Kaplan score at face value!
Best,
Eli
P.S. A general reminder to students: check the dates of the threads you're posting in. The last post in this thread was almost three years ago. Usually, it's better to make a new thread than to post in one so old.
