GMAT Score:770
Hi Everyone,
I just took the GMAT and got a 730(Q50 and V38). I am disappointed because my scores in the practice tests, both from GMATPrep and MGMAT in the last month of preparation were in the range of 740 to 770. To add to my frustration I had a very good feeling before I clciked 'report scores' as I had 15 mins remaining after my quants and 10 minutes after my verbal.

More than the frustration I am worried as I have an average profile with a low GPA. I was aiming for a good GMAT score to balance my average GPA. Please suggest if I need to take the GMAT again. I am aiming for top 15 schools.

Graduated from a top 10 Engineering college in India
My GPA: 3.3
Work Exp: 2 years as a software developer. going to take up a consultant role pretty soon [will be 3+ years when I apply and 4 when I join]
Other: I have an active lead role in IEEE, will get a promotion soon

I am not convinced about my prpearation method so I am not putting a debreif on that. If you people want I am more than ready to post a writeup.[of course after I get myself over from the pain]

thanks,
Vishnu

Let me reassure you - You have a great score! Don't bother retaking and concentrate on your applications and differentiating yourself! It'll be hard as you seem to come from a competitive pool.

BTW, Congrats on the great score! I expect others to echo my sentiments!

I finally retook today and got a 770. I have put up a debrief here.

- Concept

I am more intutive than conceptual. Still I like the name because I used it to win numerous "counter-strike" battles :)
