Hi,
I am an Indian national and fall 2010 aspirant. I wish to settle down in US/Europe post my MBA. I am aiming for top international B-schools only. Latest FT MBA rankings 2009 have ranked ISB and CEIBS among top 15 B-schools. Since these schools also enjoy significant cost advantage over US or European B-schools (which is of great concern to me), i would like your opinion on both of these schools vs other top US/European schools.

Nice to see that you keep urself abreast with the latest ranking .. But believe me u shud always take the ranking with a grain of salt. Everyone has their own methodology to get to some rankings. FTs main faulit is its over emphasis on weighted average salary .
look at this link .. I am sure this will be helpful

I have nothing against ISB . its a very very good school for someone who wanna be in India post MBA but if some says me thats its better than Duke,NYU, ale or Ross.. I will not buy it .
I mean those instituitions have proved themseleves and ISB is there for only 6-7 yrs now . If ut Post MBA goal is to settle in US/Europe here my list in no particular order and Yes very much depends upon what u wanna do post MBA ..
for USA
Harvard
Stanford
Wharton
Chicago
Kellogg
MIT
Columbia
Tuck
Ross
Duke/NYU
Europe
Insead
IMD
LBS
IESE
Oxford
Do let me know if have any more doubts...
Thanks Sudhir, your blog really helped with my research on b-schools. I have few more questions and would really appreciate your opinion.
My brief Profile :

Acads : PG from MICA..its India's top Advertising & Communication institute. Undergrad : 65%, got CGPA evaluated to 3.81 from USA.
GMAT score : 720
Target countries post MBA : EU & USA
Target Industries post MBA : Consultancy/Media & Entertainment/telecommunications/...any suggestions based on my profile/nationality..being an international student wanting to work in USA/EU
Target Schools : Top US & EU B-schools (Your list does not include UCLA!)
Questions :
1. Finance : I dont have collateral security/US based co-signor to apply for loans. Do top B-schools ensure financial needs of every accepted students are met? Specially for students coming from countries like India where rupee salaries are very low when converted to USD.
2. Based on my profile, can you suggest me good schools?
Thanks.

Hi P,
Due to the credit crisis, many schools are cutting back their financial aide programs, ESPECIALLY to international students (I recently posted an article from business week about the decline in student loans to international MBA students).
Therefore, I would strongly encourage you to contact the schools directly to find out about any updates to their financial aide programs.
