Say Todd's weight before losing 12 pounds was x lbs and his brother's weight was y lbs.BTGmoderatorDC wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 6:24 pmIn the last week, Todd has lost 12 pounds and now weighs exactly three times as much as his younger brother. Thus, x – 12 = 3y ---(1)
from "Together they weigh 280 pounds," we have x – 12 + y = 280 => x + y = 292---(2)
Thus, from (1) and (2), we have x = 222 lbs
Correct answer: D
Hope this helps!
