MBA essays : general & specific thoughts

Dear Mrs Stacy Blackman,
I read all your comments on the BeattheGMAT and the Manhattan GMAT web-site, and I find that your advices are just too generous and wise, Thank you for all;
I have the impression that every candidate to MBA finds himself in a different situation from others because the experiences and the backgrounds vary.
This is why I am writing to you and I'd appreciate you taking a time to answer my question about essays;

First, I am 32 years old woman from Morocco. I completed a Master degree in chemical engineering in a moroccan university in 1998 ( curriculums similar to those of French universities), and worked for eigth years ( 1998 through 2006) in an R&D division of the biggest private mining group in Morocco. I got a promotion to a R&D project manager in 2004 to 2006. I still believe that my career was quitely focused on technical aspects in research and development.
Now I am really interested in a full time MBA in a US university ( like Texas A&M) to get first steps in a new career as consultant in strategy in marketing or business intelligence for industries in my country; I have done a lot of work in technlogy watching and business intelligence within the group I worked for. My country is an emerging one and needs and needs qualified staffs.

Therfore, when I am about thinking of leadership and decision making situations to describe in my essays, I have few options compared to people who had managerial carreers.
I am convinced that leadership can be proved in every situation. However, I wonder if businss schools would appreciate to look at particular leadership experiences in research ad development where outcomes are first ideas and creativity, then money;
Secondly, I was not really involved in associations work and feel unconfortable when I hear that business schools like to much to hear about that kind of experiences. I would like to be sincere in my application, yet doing my best to fit MBA requirements ;

can you please comment my concerns about essays ?

I need to add more informations here, As you would have noticed, I am from morocco and english is my second foreign langage after french ( arabic is my mother tongue). In my plan to improve my english, I just resigned from work in july 2006 and came to the united states for six months english immersion training. By the same time, I am working on the GMAT which I took once and got unsatisfied with results due to a poor verbal section. Now that I am working hard on it, I can say that it's quietly better. Those are challenges I am facing, but It's just exciting to go through.

I applogize for the lenght of my stimulus, I am sure of your generous attitude;

Best regards

With regards to leadership - there is an opportunity for leadership in everything! For example, if you are in a technical role and spend a lot of solitary time in front of the computer, you may have discovered an inefficient process and worked to improve it. Or perhaps you took initiative to document processes and share with the rest of the staff. There are always ways to innovate and lead - both in and out of work.

Business Schools like to see that you are a well rounded individual. If you can share passions, interests, hobbies, involvements outside of work, that will be good for your application.

You will be a stronger candidate with a higher score on the GMAT and TOEFL, so it is important that you are taking the English classes.

Good luck!
