If K is a multiple of 29, is KY a multiple of 174?
(1) Y has all the same factors as 27.
(2) K is divisible by 2 without a remainder.
The answer is C .

However I have a small doubt...
for ky to be a multiple of 29 y has to be 6 that is 2 and 3.
Statement 1 tells us that y has all the factors as 27 meaning y has to be 1 0r 3 or 9 0r 27 . We clearly know that y cannot be 6 therefore is statement 1 alone is not sufficient..?

the phrasing is that way exactly for that reason. y has all the factors of 27 - not y has ONLY the factors of 27. Leaves stat. (1) open for y to equal, for example, 54, which has all the factors of 27 (and then some).leonswati wrote:If K is a multiple of 29, is KY a multiple of 174?
