I missed the first question!!... and still got a 720!

Granted I was in a pretty bad cold throughout the day today, I missed the first question on the Quant section. It was a simple sequence question to which I just couldn't focus and panicked in picking a number because I was spending well over 4 minutes on it. The next question I got was something like, what is the average of 10, 11, 22, 33, 44, and 55... I almost like stopped the test right there! A question later I am sure that I missed again because the question was asking me to find the area of a right triangle with all but one side given... I couldn't give up though - God must have been watching over me because I somehow got 48 on the math! Shows that the GMAT really is adaptive, if you get knocked down it'll give you more chances and as long as you hit a couple of hard questions in a row and you get them right you are O-K. I wish I can see where I got the verbal questions wrong though.. some of those critical reasoning questions just didn't have any logical solutions... Just my observation, what do you guys think?

Yes you are right. Hence it is advised that you should concentrate only on getting the question on the screen right and not to think about the nitty-gritties like how many hard questions you are facing, how many of your previous questions are wrong etc.
JUST FOCUS ON THE QUESTION THAT'S ON THE SCREEN.
JUST FOCUS ON THE QUESTION THAT'S ON THE SCREEN.

Congrats on your score. I think there's a good chance I missed the first question of my test too.
