IMO they are pretty much close to actual GMAT although MGMAT's math involves lot of math and a bit harder. IMO it is the best available CATs in the market apart from GMATPrep. MGMAT's score is somewhat closer to real GMAT. Maybe +/- 50 points difference in overall score.

From my experience, my quant score on the official gmat was higher than any of my quant scores on Manhattan CATs and my verbal score was lower.

well supposedly the Quant portion of the MGMAT CAT's are designed to be harder than the GMAC quant sections... so it's like you're studying and preparing at a higher level than what you'll experience on D-Day

that's quite a difference! which verbal material would you rate as the closest to the gmat problems?

I too find mgmat verbal not representative - I've scored 45 on the verbal (with 10 mins left over) and know that it's not likely for me to get that on the GMAT since my highest score on GMAT prep is 38. I think the SC questions are geared towards the concepts discussed in the book and the CR/RC is def not as tough and lengthy as the GMAT.

Anyone have any suggestions for tough verbal practice?

I believe that the Veritas materials are the closest to the logic of the GMAT that I have seen. The only problem is that they do not sell the guides individually so you would have to get the entire set which is expensive.
