Community College Transcripts

by islandgurl918 » Fri Aug 20, 2010 7:58 am
Hello,

Is it 100% absolutely necessary to include a community college transcript when applying for an MBA program if you already received a BA from a good university? I only took a course, but was thinking of not including it as my grade was less than stellar. I did very well in undergrad and would much rather just include that transcript. Thoughts?

Generally, you must include all transcripts of courses you took which were included in getting your degree. So, if you took a course at a community college in the summer and transferred or used that credit towards your degree, you would need to schlep out there and get the transcript. Sorry if that's bad news!

It was in addition to my bachelor's degree. It was just one course I took on a whim and was after I graduated from UC Berkeley with my BA in Communications. I didn't use the community college course for any sort of transfer credit.

In that case, you should be exempt from including the course and transcript. I would only include it if it counted towards the degree. Thanks for the clarification.

unrelated to the original poster, I have bachelors from Ut-Austin, but it shows my work at junior college. Will I still need transcripts from both or will the one from UT suffice with the junior college work on it?

I see--sorry didn't notice different avatar. Yes, unfortunately you will need to get a copy of your transcript from the community college.
