Hi, I have done 4 practice exams from the official GMATPrep software between November and December 2016. I haven't reached the score I want yet, so I'm back on the studies.
My question is: If I have taken the practice exam 4 times is it worthit to buy the GMAT Prep Exam Pack 1 and Pack 2 and retake them?! Or the questions will be the same?
Thanks

Most students need to do more than 4 CATs to sufficiently prepare for the exam. In order to get a sense of all the content tested, and to practice timing sensibility, guessing strategies, and decision-making, you need to have taken enough exams to feel comfortable.
You probably won't remember that questions that you saw back in Nov/Dec, but yes - a lot of them will be the same. You shouldn't need to re-purchase them, though. If you purchased them once, you should have the software installed, and you can simply re-take them. You should also note that there are SIX practice tests available from GMAC:
- 2 that come free with the free software: https://www.beatthegmat.com/a-place-to- ... tml#786920
- And 2 exam packs with 2 exams each, available for purchase: https://www.mba.com/us/store/store-catal ... ction.aspx
Each of these 6 exams has a discrete pool of questions.
However, I would recommend purchasing an exam pack from a top test prep company for several reasons:
- you get detailed answer explanations (GMAC does not provide these)
- you get detailed analytics, tracking your accuracy and timing by question type and topic across exams (GMAC does not do this)
Of course I recommend Manhattan Prep, but any top company will provide useful practice. If you're interested, you can purchase the exam pack of 6+ exams from Manhattan Prep GMAT for less than you would have spent on 4 exams (with no answer explanations or analytics) from GMAC: https://www.manhattanprep.com/gmat/stor ... ice-tests/
Good luck!
