Gmat Strategy Settings

by thefmaster » Thu Feb 19, 2009 2:32 pm
Dear All!

I've to HAND IN my Gmat score by the deadline 30th of april, I've just discovered

So now I'm planning to start a schedule for having the exam done and the result on hand by that date (it takes 20 days for the scores to get delivered to the Bschool right?? :?: )

Since I'll also have to do 3 exams for my undergraduate corse at beginning of April I've to concentrate now for this £$/%$ Gmat

Reading out the many posts on beatthegmat.com I'm planning to buy only the Yelllow OG guide 11 edition (even though the 12 will be out by mid march  ) and the Crack the Gmat PR 2009. Since these books count 1000 pages all together I do not think I can make it to do more books, so I think it's not worth even buying them.

I'd like to ask all of you GmatBeaters if you think these 2 books are enough and how should I start planning my GmatBeating Strategy.

I really thank you for all your support,

Waiting for your replies!

Simon

Hi Simon,

I myself am new to this but have done about 1 month of research and general reading on the internet about the best books, classes, methods, etc. Overall, I think you're going down the right path with getting the OG books as that is on everyone's must have list.

The most reoccuring comment about the books is that in reality, you could have the best prep material money can buy and it wouldn't matter. What will really make you succeed is cpmpleting practice problems religiously and understanding your weaknesses. Become best friends with your 'weaknesses' and correct them and make them stronger. Understand why you got a problem wrong and how to fix it.

I hope this helps! Keep us updated on your progress :)

BTW, are you from Italy (it says something about it in your sig). I used to live there and absolutely miss it everyday!

Sasha

Yeah I'm from Milano, north italy, where I'm attending the last year of Bocconi International economics and management course...

OK, thank you for your suggestions, I'll go ahead practising, hoping to score a sufficiently high score.... >=650....

If any news on material to buy get back to me!

thanks to all

Simon
