Can anyone help answer why the answer is
(C)
instead of
(D)
?
Shouldn't the verb "derive" be in the singular form "derives" since it is referring to the singular noun Achaemenid Script?
Achaemenid Empire

Subject Verb agreement.
From wich derive two things - Northern and southern ........Indian languages. And is a connector here which should makes the subject plural.
Hope this helps!

Yes this is certainly a subject verb agreement testing singular and plural (and logic).
With the verb to derive, stop and think for a second what derives what? In other words what comes from what? In this case it is the Alphabets that come from the Aramaic script. Here, of course, they would like to trap you into putting in the singular by offering the logic (faulty logic at that) of saying that Aramaic comes from the Alphabets. They do so by offering up the relative pronoun 'which' and this would seem to refer back to the Aramaic script. Pay attention to the preposition 'from' which changes everything!
Hope this helps.

Sir,
Can you please explain me what is wrong in the first sentence ?
Would the sentence be correct if "were" was used instead of "was".
Is there any difference in "bringing x with it" and "bringing with it x".
sry, this may be a dumb question but I wanted to make sure that I am not missing
anything.
Thanks.
