Now it is very clear that only D satisfies the parallelism and has correct tense forms. So D wins among the given choices.

The correct parallelism structure is not only A but also B.
(A) is incorrect because the "not only" is not followed by a "but also".
(B) is incorrect with the same reason as (A).
(C) is incorrect because "not only" is not present in the clauses before the "but also"
(E) is incorrect because "but also" does not appear in the clauses after the "not only".
We can conclude (D) is correct.

Well not only A but also B is Idiomatic, not sure whether one can call it Parallelism or not..
IMO it is created Vs gave; keeping tenses in same time zone and in turn creating parallel structure..
I'm here to BTG
