number 1) tells nothing about increase

nuber 2) figure this:

1980= 1,2 1970

1990= 1,3 1970

so;

1990 = 1,3/1,2 1980 thats the answer

bye

I think the answer would be (1.3-1.2)/1.3 * 100

Is that correct?

The answer should be B.

(1) is not sufficient.
(2)
Let 100 be population in 1970.
Then 120 in 1980
and 130 in 1990

%age increase can be calculated from (2) alone.
