The correct idiom is As varied as

Although C is tempting but those is not needed

Hence A

I will go with C.

Green taxes are having effect on-------and-------, as varied as "those" of china......
Here those correctly refers to resources mentioned.

China doesnot have same effect as green taxes have!!!

The ans is indeed A.

pawha, we had the same thought and I guess those could refer to countries or the resources, so it makes the sentence not the best choice.

Hey guys, sorry I'm late...

It has to be A 'as varied as'. It can't be C because 'as varied as' refers to the countries, not the green taxes, so saying 'those of' is redundant since China, etc. are obviously examples of countries. I hope that makes sense.

Sprite_TM,

We use "that" only to introduce a clause. In this sentence the intention is to give examples. Hence the usage of "that" is incorrect here.

I pick 'A'

China doesnot have same effect as green taxes have!!!

A) "as varied as" correctly refers to countries
C) "as varied as those of" refers to environment and natural resource

Therefore, since D) change the original mean of the sentence, C) is incorrect.

the meaning is that

countries are as varied as N, C and H ARE

we need ARE to make the second element of comparison is clear. this is tested many time in OG

check grammar

only E and B have ARE

as...as is idiom. B is correct

we do not need to check meaning.
