GMAT got you down?

by sunshine00 » Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:08 am
Don't blow it out of proportion and turn it into something it's not. I found myself stressing about my score of 640 not being good enough for good schools in Canada and the US, but I resolve starting in 2012 to not put so much emphasis on this damned exam, and show that despite my not-so-stellar score of 640 on a standardized test, I still have what it takes to be a great business leader one day. I say F' the gmat and go with your instincts - what led you to dream about b-school in the first place, what drove you to apply, what inspired to give it a shot no matter what bumps along the road you may encounter. Cuz it's ok to not be perfect and to make mistakes - many great leaders did to get to where they wanted to be. It's about being creative, resourceful, street-smart, and society-smart too.

Although I'm not happy with my score, I am satisfied - meaning I'll just have to work that much harder on my essays, resume, and recommendation letters, which I am naturally better at in life than in a standardized test, anyways.
