GMAT Score:700
Hi,

I gave GMAT yesterday and managed to get 700.

Throughout my preparation times, I've been aiming in the range of 720 - 750 while of course keeping a mindset to achieve the maximum. Nevertheless, as I stand with my current score, I'm happy to have at least fetch a figure of '7' in the hundredth's place of my score. A big psychological boost!

Experts,
As I returned from the test center, I had one prolong thought about my score: IS IT GOOD TO GO?

I'm hoping to apply in R1 and following is the highlight of my profile:

> Work Ex of 3 years in IT
> +8 months in Teaching Assistant-ship
> GPA: 3.5 (75%)

Professional Achievements:
> LOMA FLMI Level 1 Certified
> Recipient of numerous Certificate-Of-Achievements from previous employer
> Famed as 'Creative Head' of the Team

Personal Achievements:
> Started a middle school 4 years back and now have scale it to Higher Secondary standards
> We provide free education to 25% of strength
> Plans underway to start a Kindergarten this year or may be by early next year
> Web-master for an architectural firm's professional website
> Freelance software solutions provider
> Have played national level T.T.
> Topped "Do-You-Have-It-In-You" contest conducted by India Air Force
> Hold 8 months of teaching assistant-ship time at a local institution

The above are the highlights only and while making up my profile, I'd be employing same points although in much more elaborate manner. Also, as soon as I finish my research for program course, I'll add up that too and shall converge my direction and focus on to my course of interest for MBA program.

Experts,
Please assist me to evaluate my chances of getting through top 30 - 40 colleges. Do I stand a chance for a financial aid and how far reach should be my prospects when applying to different universities.

Thank You,
Shubham Sharma

Hi Stacy,

I'm currently looking forward to courses under one of
the following branches:

> HR, People/Resource Management
> IT
> Operations
> Information Systems / Management Information Systems
> Marketing / Pre-Sales

Thanks for reply Stacy! Also, can you please list top notch universities that I can apply to with my current standings. While I've applied to 5 Universities already at the time of GMAT test, they are:

1. University of Rochester, Simon Business School
2. Indiana University Bloomington
3. University of Iowa
4. Nanyang Business School
5. Texas A&M University, Mays Business School

I'd also be applying to 5-6 more. For now I've short-listed:

1. Cornell
2. NYU
3. Georgia
4. Columbia
5. Sloan
6. Carnegie Mellon

I believe Harvard, Wharton, SAID and Stanford are out of my reach. What's your say?

Also, can you provide my insights on international programs such as INSEAD-France, LSB-UK and ISB-India?

Looking forward to your reply...

Well,
Since you have already applied to five schools, and that you have good chances of getting in at least ONE of their schools, now is the time for you to let loose and apply to your DREAM schools.

Even though this BIG three would be very tough for you to get into, if there's one that you really have always dreamed of, and that fit your goals, why would you NOT apply?

As for your short list, Columbia and Sloan are likely to be a lot tougher than the other four, and at Georgia you will likely have the strongest chances in your list.

So if you have time for six more schools, I would choose five out of your short list, plus one more "super dream school" whichever one you honestly truly love.

Best of luck to ya!
