Solution:

We can let t = the driving time for both Rob and David since they each depart at 9:00 am. The total distance they will travel is 200 miles, so we have the equation:

50t + 30t = 200

80t = 200

t = 2.5

We see that 2.5 hours is 2 hours 30 minutes, so they will meet at 11:30 am.

The total distance covered by both when they meet equals 200.

Assume time to be '\(t\)'

\(50t + 30t =200\)

\(t=2.5\) hours

They will meet \(2.5\) hours after \(9\) am \(= 11.30\) am
