YES/NO PROBLEM:Choice D "EACH statement ALONE is suffic

For the above answer choice in a yes/no question, do the solutions have to be both yes/yes or no/no? Could they be yes/no or no/yes since each statement alone is sufficient? Thanks in advance.

You are not being asked whether the answer is Yes or No. You are only being asked whether it can be determined. Therefore it doesn't matter whether statement 1 would result in a definitive Yes answer and statement 2 would result in a definitive No. All that matters is whether each statement provides sufficient information.

That being said, I don't recall seeing such questions! Usually, when D is the answer, both statements provide the same answer. This is only by my memory, however, and should not be taken as a statement of fact.
