As I'm writing the essays, I've got a problem with words count. I consistely overwrite about 10%. Is it OK to do so?
ex) I'm writing around 820 words on 750words essay.

Nah, it's best to stick to word limits. The reason this is emphasized so much is because business communication needs to be terse and exact. Bschools look at your ability to be precise, accurate without rambling on and on; they do this by looking at how well you communicate and stick to word limits on the essays. So stick to the word limits, you don't want that to be put against you!
