Employees Pay

by heshamelaziry » Mon Dec 28, 2009 12:59 pm
Most Corporations pay at least twice as much to full-time employees, if the value of benefits, sick days, and paid vacation days are included in earnings, than to part-time employees, whose hourly wages are often higher than those of their full-time colleagues.

(A) are included in earnings, than
(B) are included in earnings, as
(C) is included in earnings, than they pay
(D) is included in earnings, as is paid
(E) is included in earnings, as they pay

(A) are included in earnings, than
the value of x,y and z is included in earnings. Also as much to FT employees ..... as they pay to ... is correct idiom

(B) are included in earnings, as

(C)is included in earnings, than they pay

(D) is included in earnings, as is paid

(E) is included in earnings, as they pay
this is correct becoz ... is included refers to value and they refers to corporations

Hey I got moved with "and" in "the value of benefits, sick days, and paid vacation days " and presume it to be "plural subject"..

But lately after seeing the OA....."value" is the subject and it has to follow a "singular" verb.

Lesson Learnt: Dont get carried away with "of". Always give a moment when u see" of & and" to check the SV agreement.

Silly man!!
