Simple try
35% of ab = ?
(1) b = 200% of a implies b = 2a
So, 35% of ab = 0.35 * 2a², but we don't know the value of a.
So, (1) is NOT SUFFICIENT.

(2) 50% of b = a implies b/2 = a or b = 2a, which gives the same info as statement 1.
So, again (2) is NOT SUFFICIENT.

Combining (1) and (2), also is NOT SUFFICIENT to answer the question.

The correct answer is E.
