inequatiions

hey guys can someone could help me to figure out this question please ??

Q16:
If x and y are positive, is x^3 > y?
(1) squarroot(x) > y
(2) x > y

I thought that if xand y positiv so squar root X> y --> x>y^2
so X^3>y^6 > y

The answer is E
Can someone explaim me please ??
