Drumroll please...we have our winners!

by beatthegmat » Wed May 21, 2008 10:09 pm
Thanks for making the 2008 Beat The GMAT Scholarship so special! This year’s scholarship competition, co-sponsored by Manhattan GMAT and Stacy Blackman Consulting, was the most competitive to date—nearly 100 people submitted an application!

Not only that, but the quality of applications was simply incredible. The members of this community truly did an excellent job of making our selection process extremely difficult. :)

It is my great pleasure to announce this year’s Beat The GMAT Scholarship winners:
  1. Yiwei - saharsnow
  2. Carla - cganiel
  3. Cindy - Divanme
  4. Howard - orenbusuk
  5. Eyob - eyob kifle
The judging panel was floored by the personal stories of each of these candidates. It’s my hope that in the coming weeks, the community will have an opportunity to learn just a little bit more about each of these individuals; Beat The GMAT will be rolling out a special ‘Beat The GMAT Scholarship Alumni’ page, featuring bios of each of one of these folks.

Please help me in congratulating Yiwei, Carla, Cindy, Howard, and Eyob. We are confident that these exceptional folks will use their prizes well and will lead fantastic careers and lives. Beat The GMAT, Manhattan GMAT, and Stacy Blackman Consulting are proud to have a part in their future success!

Thanks!

Dear Eric,

I take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners of this
scholarship.May God bless them.

Also,it was a good exercise for the rest(:)95) as they had an opportunity to go through this drill and might know what all corrective steps they need to take to beat the gmat and the application process.
Eric, is it possible for you to send us(95:)) some critical analysis of our
applications so that we can improve upon it.

Thanks Eric,MGMAT and Stacy blackman consulting for giving an opportunity for all of us to participate.

All the best to BeattheGmat community!

Rgds,

Neoneem

Congratulations to the winners on my side as well and to all of you who have initiated this scholarship!!

Strongly supporting neoneem`s comment on welcoming a crtitical analysis/feedback on our applications from the Panel of Judges... if possible, of course. That would certainly be a great tool to go on with.

cheers

Great news!

Thanks to all the judges and reviewers. May be next year would see an even larger volume of prizes! Hopefully, I will be in a good B school by then and not be a btg scholarship reapplicant. :)

Any feedback would be great takeaway from this exercise. Advice geared towards MBA application rather than the scholarship requirements would be more beneficial. Although, I agree it is putting too much onus on the reviewers, it would definitely be a huge favor for all participants.
Try not. Do or do not. There is no try

Can you guys at least post the weight age of the essays send by the participants (those who have not won this scholarship)?

If not possible to everyone, then at least can you send it for me. I want to know where do I stand?

Thanks

My apologies codesnooker, but we can't release this kind of data. I don't want to project the impression of a walled garden, but we will not be able to provide individual feedback for applicants.
