AFter 4 months and 100s of hours of study, $1500 on the Manhattan GMAT course and many early mornings/late evenings I took the GMAT this morning and was very disappointed in my 670 score. My initial MGMAT Cat was 650 and subsequently I saw scores in the ranges of 700-720 each time (with real test conditions). My Quant score didn't improve really at all throughout the weeks (varying from 43 to 47).
I know that this is below my ability, but it is nonetheless very discouraging after so much studying. I would like to take the test again the earliest date possible in December. I was curious if anyone had any thoughts of how to best approach this next test. I do not think I need to reinvent the wheel here, as I believe I have a pretty good knowledge base, but I obviously need some help on my Quant in terms of actually getting something out of the material.
Very disappointed, but I guess there's nowhere to go but up.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Bosox,
Don't be disheartened! I can tell you this very thing happened to me.
I found the Manhattan books to be great, and I took all of their CATs scoring consistently 710 - 730. Then test day came, and I got a pitiful 660!
My verbal was spot on to what I had gotten on the CATs but my quant was well below. What I realized was I became too used to the way Manhattan phrased questions, as well as the types of problems they tend to focus on. So I scheduled my next exam 31 days later. In that time, I took the full GMAT Prep exams 6 different times.
My thinking was, if I am able to get consistent scores on the Manhattan tests, it's not a matter of knowledge or ability, rather, testing comfort. My scores on the GMAT prep exams leading up to test day were: 670, 730, 740, 760, 770, 750.
On test day, I got a 730!
best of luck.
