Took a Manhattan GMAT practice exam today and got this as my second quantitative question. Spent over 2 minutes on it before rushing to guess because I couldn't figure out what the heck it's asking.

Basically you have
Perimeter of Circle + Perimeter of Square + Length of Diagonals = q

Let side of Square = a

From the above equation you get

2Pi(a/Rt2) + 4a + 2aRt2 = q

Now, the Question is asking to find the value of a/Rt2, as it says to find the distance from the castle to the circular moat, so solve for that :)

so express the radius of the circle in terms of q? was it really necessary to confuse the test taker with all the stuff about the mote and the castle. lol

Well, the question by itself is pretty simple so i'm guessing Yeah to make it appear long and complicated :D
