3)The interior of a rectangular carton is designed by a certain manufacture to have a volume of x cubic feet and a ratio of length to width to height of 3:2:2. In terms of x, which of the following equals the height of the carton, in feet?

A. 3 sq root of x
B. 3 sq root of 2x/3
C. 3 sq root of 3x/2
D. (2/3) to the 3rd sq root of x
E. (3/2) to the 3rd sq root of x

The answer is: B

Not only the options are wrong but the options are dimensionally incorrect!!

IF x is in cubic units which represent volume, then height should be in some single unit..which occurs only when you take the cube root of x !!

I think the answer are posted incorrectly

The correct answer is:

3y * 2y * 2y = x
y^3 = x/12
y = cube root of (x/12)

height = 2y = cube root of (2x/3)
