1,1¹� ≈ 5
(1.1¹�)³ ≈ 5³
1.1�¹ ≈ 125
Thus:
1.1�� = a bit less than 125

The correct answer is D.

Answer: D

(1.1)^50
= (1.1)^(51 - 1)
= (1.1)^51 / (1.1)
= ((1.1)^17)^3 / (1.1)
≈ 5^3/1.1
= 125/1.1
≈ 120

Therefore, the answer is D.

We see that (1.1)^50 ≈ (1.1)^51 = [(1.1)^17]^3

Since (1.1)^17 ≈ 5.05, we can round it to 5 and we have:

[(1.1)^17]^3 ≈ 5^3 = 125

Therefore, (1.1)^50 ≈ 125. Since 120 is the closest to 125, choice D is the correct answer.

Answer: D
