isnt 'nearly' an adverb and 'fiftyperccent a noun' ?if yes they r then is nearly fifty percent correct gram,matically?adverb +noun?the oa is b but i m a bit confused;someone plz clarify;i wld appreciate that!!!!

by nearly fifty percent is suppose to modify fell thus it should be placed close to fell. Hence Ans B

dude,If you see the option A, there is a redundancy in that.It says Fell to its nadir and then uses DOWN.
So A is already eliminated.
