Hi Friends,
I am having difficulty in understanding the following problem. Please help.
Doctor: Research shows that adolescents who play video games on a regular basis are three times as likely to develop carpal tunnel syndrome as are adolescents who do not play video games. Federal legislation that prohibits the sale of video games to minors would help curb this painful wrist condition among adolescents. The doctor's conclusion depends on which of the following assumptions?
"¢ The majority of federal legislators would vote for a bill that prohibits the sale of video games to minors.
"¢ Not all adolescents who play video games on a regular basis suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome.
"¢ Playing video games is the only way an adolescent can develop carpal tunnel syndrome.
"¢ Most parents would refuse to purchase video games for their adolescent children.
"¢ The regular playing of video games by adolescents does not produce such beneficial effects as better hand-eye coordination and improved reaction time.
OA after some discussions.

Hey Bro, here's what I saw in this question (very good one by the way)
On the first pass thru the choices I eliminated B and E
B: this answer is pretty obvious and a natural cause of the likeliness of something to happen (there will be some ppl who don't get it at all)
E: out of scope, we're discussing pitfalls of video games here not benefits (opposite)
C: was next to do. this answer would be perfect if the argument read "the sale of video games to minors would help ELIMINATE this painful wrist condition" but it says curb. based on that language I eliminated it.
A&D: It's pretty tight here but I chose D, i just felt that the access to the video games was the real issue here. The author assumes "hey no video games for kids no problem!" Clearly he's assuming there's no other access point for kids.. Plus on a more advanced note this assumption is a "defending assumption" which in this case eliminates a possible source of attack.
That's my take!
