Can I skip any Question in the test?

by adity_13 » Mon Sep 24, 2012 1:08 am
Suppose in Quant Section of GMAT I have answered first 5 questions but in the 6th question I am not sure or could not even guess the answer. In this situation Can I just skip the 6th question(For for ever of Partially) and go for the 7th question? OR I must answer the 6th question for getting the 7th one? Is there any way to get back to the unanswered question if I do have time in the real test?

Please let me know the answers.

Thanks

Hi,

a. There is no way that you can proceed from one question to another without answering the same.
b. You cannot revert back to an previous question. (answered/unanswered)
c. There is a penalty in terms of score if you miss questions (towards the end). You might be better off guessing the answers than missing questions.

Regards
Anup

I should add that the GMAT is computer adaptive. The difficulty level of each question (in the math and verbal sections) is based on whether or not you correctly answered the previous question. For this reason, the GMAT won't allow you to skip questions.
