Talked to a friend at wharton, and he told me that adcom informally blacklists applicants who've applied more than twice. Their reasoning is that if you got dinged twice before, you should get the message and move on. This is very distrubing if true since I thought adcom would at least read your current application and give it a fair reading to see how much you've improved since your last app.

Is there any truth to what my friend said? If someone got dinged from a top school say 3 times, is it game over?

Nope. Not true. There is no "game over". The most important thing as a reapplicant is to show how you have improved. If you can do that, then you are off to a good start.

Thanks. This certainly makes me feel better. Do you know of people who have gotten into M7 mba programs on say their 3rd, 4th, or even 5th attempt?
