Hi!

I am a Chartered Accountant from India and having a post qualification experience of 5 years (1 year of service and four years of practice). I also have a Bachelors degree in commerce. I am planning for GMAT exam in June 2016. But before appearing for GMAT, I wanted to clear a few points.

1) I secured an average 61.30% in B.Com and 61.28% in CA. How do I calculate my GPA considering these two degrees? Is it to be calculated considering both the degrees or calculated separately to arrive at the final GPA to be considered at the time of admissions?

2) Since B.Com is a three-year degree, Is it accepted by the universities in US, UK etc? Can my CA degree, being a professional degree, compensate for this? If not, are there some short term courses that I can pursue to fulfill the deficit?

3) What should be my GMAT score to ensure my entry in the top 20 colleges in US and UK?

Diving right into your question Sonal:

1. Most schools do not want you to convert. That said, you can read the article here to get some more sense on how to go about it.
2. This too really depends from school to school. The article here will help some. It will be best however to ask this directly from the schools.
3. Higher the better - think 740+ if you can!
